As someone who has put my heart into writing songs and recording them, I feel lucky to have met Jonathan. I feel like he takes his job as a sound engineer as seriously as I take my job as a songwriter. I feel like it is my moral duty to tell you this: don't waste your time and money on random mediocre studios. Just skip that “trial and error” search and work with J-Tone Studios! I'm really glad I found someone I could trust in the music industry. It's not common to see someone who takes their craft so seriously and ends up providing more value than you ever expected. Jonathan is a brilliant teacher. His approach to mixing is very precise and the resulting sound has unique clarity and detail. His workflow is structured and easy to follow, making it ideal for mixing students. After mixing my song, he walked me through the mix and explained every step of his process. He’s corrected many misconceptions I’ve had before. Specifically, he clarified a lot of open questions I've had about EQs and compressors and taught me some cool reverb tricks that made my mix sound way more professional. For me, knowing “how” to do things wasn’t enough, and it was very important to understand “why” we should do things in certain ways. During the training, Jonathan was able to answer even my toughest questions, showing extensive knowledge and being extremely patient. Jonathan's workflow and methods turned out to be game changers for me. After the training, I was finally able to produce a rich and full sounding mix with great width and depth, and I was able to fix issues that originated in some of my raw recordings. After 3 training sessions, I now feel that I can mix any song and get it to sound just like I want it to. Thanks Jonathan!

What I look for in a mastering engineer is having a second pair of ears that will listen to my mixes and come up with an objective opinion on how to further improve and balance the mix. Someone who will bring out the right elements according to his experience and produce a master that is ready for all types of playback systems. Jonathan is not only a friendly and professional guy, but also level headed and easy to work with. He's feedback is relevant and the end result is truly the icing on the cake. As an example, for the song "When Love Leaks” which he mastered for me, the snare got more body and air, the bass a deeper tone, the vocals a bit more to the front and the overall sound was radio ready. This is exactly why I hired J-Tone Studios, and will continue to get them to master my next songs.

I approached Jonathan to record drums for a very personal song I wrote. After recording the drums, Jonathan suggested to re-mix and master the song and I agreed.
